Dr. Lisa Weed Phifer is a trauma-informed social emotional learning specialist, nationally certified school psychologist, mother, wife, and professional development designer. Dr. Phifer is the lead author of the best selling tool, CBT Toolbox for Children and Adolescents, Trauma Informed Social Emotional Toolbox, and the Parent Toolbox.
Dr. Phifer has expertise in developing the social emotional capacities of students across all stages of development. Her work focuses on empowering students, families and educators to build relationships, explore strengths and foster resiliency. Her work has also been published in the School Mental Health Journal and the first and second editions of Supporting and Educating Traumatized Students (Editor: E. Rossen).
Dr. Phifer holds a Bachelor’s of Science in Neuroscience and Psychology from Allegheny College, a Masters in Educational Psychology from Edinboro University of Pennsylvania, and earned her Doctorate of Education with an emphasis in neuropsychology from Indiana University of Pennsylvania. She holds additional certifications as a Child & Adolescent CBT Clinician (CBT-CA), Autism Spectrum Disorder Clinical Specialist, and Youth Mental Health Specialist.
Dr. Phifer is a trauma informed social emotional learning specialist. She has also practiced as a school psychologist, serving multiple school systems for the last 14 years. She has extensive experience working with students with diverse learning needs including specific learning disabilities, Autism, trauma exposure, low incidence disabilities and emotional disabilities.
Additionally, she has experience conducting workshops in the United States and Canada addressing trauma informed practices and strategies for implementing cognitive behavioral strategies in the classroom.
Dr. Phifer creates therapeutic materials for my own workbooks and consults with other professionals for intervention design. Using creative problem solving methods, she creates activities to support children with challenging behavioral and learning issues to be used in the educational and home setting..
Dr. Phifer is a speaker and webinar developer. She specializes in trauma informed approaches to support students, psycho-education for educators, and other mental health topics.
